Shonda Signs With Netflix

Shonda Rhimes has signed a big multi-year overall deal with Netflix. Her old shows will remain on ABC, but any new shows she produces will appear on Netflix. Peter Kafka criticizes legacy media companies for being too slow to contend with Netflix. On Twitter, TV scholars Kristen Warner and Myles McNutt offered their analyses of the positions of Rhimes, ABC, and Netflix. Michael Ausiello addresses some questions about Rhimes' move.
