SOPA does appear to be doomed now, and MPPA head Chris Dodd has advocated for discussions between Hollywood content providers and Silicon Valley internet companies to determine an appropriate approach to battling piracy. Meanwhile, Megaupload is going to fight against the federal forces that took it down. And Bill Wyman considers what this shutdown means for cyberlocker sites. RapidShare says they're not concerned. Many are saying that the Megaupload case shows we don't need SOPA or PIPA to help fight piracy. Meanwhile, legal users of Megaupload are frustrated.
