Men in Crisis
The Atlantic's Hanna Rosin points to the many fall shows that feature men in crisis. (Which reminds me of the comment once made by David Bordwell that the crisis in masculinity must be the longest-running crisis in human history, given how often cultural analysts identify it. Not to say that men right now aren't in crisis. They certainly could be.) Slate covered the issue too, noting that unfortunately this doesn't translate into a lot of shows about empowered women.
