tvmadman : No Connie, No. Prime Suspect please, not this, please. RT @NikkiFinke: NBC's 'The Event' Wooing Connie Britton http://bit.ly/b9tZdm
HitFixDaniel : Run away from The Event, Connie Britton! RUN! Unless they're offering BILLIONS. In that case? Tami Taylor's gotta eat.

HitFixDaniel : Run away from The Event, Connie Britton! RUN! Unless they're offering BILLIONS. In that case? Tami Taylor's gotta eat.
stayingin : I actually like The Event, so I'm in favor of Britton doing arc. But only a guest one. I want her to get her own show eventually.
ambienceofmedia : So... have we given Olivia Munn enough chances to be funny on The Daily Show? It just ain't happening.
tvoti : I had written a nearly 250 word thing on the structuralist theory of politics for the Sarah Palin's Alaska photo alt-text but abandoned it.
ewlynette: NBC may go with a three-hour comedy block on Thursdays.
franklinavenue : Move would break an unspoken scheduling rule - no shows at 10:30 Conventional wisdom: You don't want to risk losing a chunk of aud at 10:30; hour-longs make it easier to flow into 11pm news
dloehr : Last time I really remember a network trying seriously was CBS in the early 80s on Sunday nights. Didn't work.
BigTVFan : cant do worse than what they’ve got now and have a better shot doing well with their hit comedies than another night everything has changed in last 20 yrs., reality didn’t exist 20 yrs ago.
franklinavenue : Biggest prob: even if 10 show hits, if 10:30 flops, then affiliates will howl...
noelrk : I feel like the end of every episode of #Nikita needs to have the Doogie Howser theme playing over it.
tvoti : One thing I liked about Chris Carter shows is that they could be utterly different shows in different episodes. This one is about a crusading social worker who just happens to have a psychic husband, for some reason. It's a workplace drama. On the other hand, Chris Carter should never have been allowed near a courtroom scene.
tvoti : Mark Snow was never the most subtle composer, was he?
MediaObsessed : I've got a tenner that he walked around with a pocket keyboard so he could just randomly do the Xfiles theme to piss people off.
crsbecker : The PBS circus doc is really good. When windbags demand defunding of PBS, ask them where we'll get work like that w/o it. Then: shin-kick.
JustinFowler : #Bones came out hard against the slave trade this week. And child abuse. That's artistic bravery, right there. #Supernatural, meanwhile, came out in favor of shooting dogs in the face. That's ... something.
jmonjo : How perfect is it that #GreysAnatomy does a Important Middle Eastern Leader in Jeopardy! plot the same week as #ChildrensHospital does?
MartyMcKee : I've never seen NCIS, but I can tell that 40-year-old punk chick is annoying. And how does a punker chick get to be in the Navy anyway?

weinmanj : The main lesson I'm taking from The War For Late Night is it's disastrous to mythologize a network (NBC) or one of its shows (Tonight).
theonetruebix : It's completely hysterical that @TheWillTravers and the staff of API are all crashing at @hankdolworth's place. #rubicon #terriers
hankdolworth : gotta go to Ralph's to get food for my new housemates from #Rubicon. Dragging @TheWillTravers with me. Too much noise from Attic. #Terriers
kpsmartypants : Cable co.s think they're in cable business, same as Railroad co.s thought they were in RR biz, not transportation, lost to airlines. Both are about DELIVERY, not mode of delivery. Cable has had long enough to figure this out. Cable=railroads, internet=aviation.
The_AV_Club : Kanye West cancels Today Show appearance as Kanye-Bush-NBC tensions edge closer to mutually assured destruction. ~http://onion.com/dqsYDL
thesurfreport : just watched last night's Glee viewing party episode of #TheOffice. what was that???
greeney28 : I hate the blame the audience logic, but the fact that #Outsourced is rati
ng higher than #Community and #30Rock disturbs me.
theshoresofme : This is going to be my new mantra from now on. I want to be a person who chooses ghosts. #Community #fb
jmonjo :#Community has some really wonky seasonal structure/episodic ebb-and-flow this year. Not bad, just wonky. (And if a certain showrunner happens to read that last tweet, I'm hoping for 'Ebola') But the S2 structure is all about staying two steps ahead of what the audience wants/expects. Which is fun, funny brinksmanship.
weinmanj : This is a continuation from last night, but Jeff from Community has given me a renewed appreciation for Liz Lemon, because a lead everyone dumps on, while it can be annoying, works better than a lead everyone sucks up to. And I feel the same way about Hawkeye on M*A*S*H so this isn't a “why isn't it successful” point - just a “why does this character bug me”. This is something The Office avoided with Jim - most characters on the show don't think he's All That (because he's not).
zhandlen : See, I just find that the _show_ never takes Jeff all that seriously. As opposed to MASH or early Night Court.
weinmanj : Maybe not seriously, but he's certainly looked up to as The Leader by almost everyone else and rarely gets taken down very far. The stated model is Taxi but on that show, Alex was pathetic and the others were exploiting him as much as looking up to him.
zhandlen : The show is so conscious of itself that those moments of looking-up always seem intentionally silly to me. But then, I suspect I like Community a bit more than you do/
weinmanj : I think everybody does even though I like it (that's why I'm lady). But I don't think these moments are intentionally silly ...I mean, it's self-conscious, but it's also asking us to take most of these tropes at face value, including the Danny Sue stuff.
MikeRoyce : You can have Braugher's part. My apologies for the oversight. RT @toddbarry: @MikeRoyce Cast me on your show. No audition. #MenofaCertainAge
nprmonkeysee : More of @jimmyfallon's show growing into pure, off-kilter, nuclear-powered awesome. You would see this NOWHERE else. http://nyti.ms/9Lr2Ol
BoobsRadley : They really broke the mold when they made Alec Baldwin. But then they kept using the mold anyway. Thus, Stephen.
VDOOZER : I still dream of new scrubs episodes, even Spin City ones - total great use of my time.
jmonjo : Great thing about Always Sunny: After six seasons, it's still pretty eager to please. Which is rare.
