No Interest in the Olds
Bill Gorman responds to a Variety article lamenting that despite 18-49 viewing declines, advertisers still aren't interested in paying for 50+ audiences: "What the media focuses on isn’t the issue, it’s what advertisers want to pay for and they don’t want to pay for viewers 50 and older. Complain about the foolishness or injustice of it all at your leisure, but that’s the way advertisers have been paying for broadcast primetime advertising since the 1970′s."
