The parent companies of MSNBC.com (NBCU and Microsoft) are concerned that MSNBC's reputation as a liberally slanted cable news outlet will damage the more objective reputation of the web outlet, which is a separate company, and are thus contemplating a new name/URL for the latter, even though such a major change brings risk.
Meanwhile, the Writers Guild is expressing concern that the quality of TV news at NBC will decline with the Comcast merger.
