Steve Pond yawns, Alan Sepinwall feels refreshed, James Poniewozik is surprised, Eric Deggans is without snark, Myles McNutt was unbored, Cory Barker reflects, Joel Keller is mixed, Alessandra Stanley laughed, Mary McNamara had fun, Robert Bianco was off-balance.

Brad Agdate: "Sum up Emmys: Broadcast TV did best with comedies; cable TV with dramas, variety shows & pay cable TV with movies." There could be just such splits in Emmy's future, but no more longform in prime time.
